The Summer Palace

Summer Palace, a large-scaled imperial garden, is one of the famous gardens of China. Verdant hill, beautiful waters, gorgeous decorations, Towering cabinets and winding corridor are all atttractive.

Located over Kuning Lake in Summer Palace and spanning the East Dyke and South Lake Island, the 17-arched Bridge is the largest stone bridge in the Garden. Being 150m in length and 8m in width,it looks like a rainbow lying over the waves, utterly magnificent and beautiful.

The Long Corridor is the longest corridor among those in Chinese classical gardens -- the length amounts to 728m. Decorated by a large number of delicate traditional coloured paintings, it is like a gordeous belt which links the buildings in Front Hill area into an integrated whole. Hence the name "Picture Corridor".
