| Old summer palace is the comprehensive name of
Yuanmingyuan, Changchunyuan and Wanchunyuan. It is the largest
imperial garden in China. It is a rare masterpiece of garden
construction, which concentrated the cream of Chinese gardens and
absorbed European gardening art. Hence the name "Garden of All
Gardens". In 1860, the garden was burnt down by the British-French
Allied Troops. Picture shows the Remains of the palace. |
